Friedrich Hoffmann, manufacturer of sweets, mistrusts his nephews Theodor and Oskar, both incompetent, but greedy for money. Therefore he decides to entrust Dr. Paul Degenhart with the leading job to run one of his firms. Paul immediately falls in love with his secretary, without dreaming that Susanne Arnold is Friedrich Hoffmann’s granddaughter. Lively Susanne not only twists Paul round her little finger, but also grandpa Friedrich. The legacy hunters Theodor and Oskar start to panic!
