Beate, a biology student concerned about world pollution, lives in a deserted country house. The director of a nearby coalmine has been trying for years, by means fair and foul, to buy the house, hoping to find reach seams of coal underneath it. The neighboring estates have long since been acquired by him. But Beate cannot be persuaded, by money or by menaces, to abandon per pollution-free paradise. The director sees his last hope in handsome young Dieter who is to use his considerable charms to make Beate change her mind. But things turn out rather differently. At the end the director has to forego the much-desired piece of land, the young man finally tames his stubborn girl and the girl's earthly paradise remains intact.
