Village priest Gustav dreams of building a youth home on the empty lot near the church. Unfortunately, he doesn´t have the cash he needs. Only one man is happy about the reverend´s plight, the hotel owner Oskar Stiller, who wants to build a hotel on the same property.
The town mayor is torn between the two fronts. He gives the priest an ultimatum. If the priest can´t raise the necessary money within three months, Stiller will be awarded the property.
When the priest unexpectedly receives a hotel calles "Paradise" as an inheritance, he isn´t sure what to make of it. When he goes to inspect his inheritance, Stiller seizes his opportunity. He send a photographer to take pictures of the priest in the brothel. However, Mitzi, the madame of "Paradise", is prepared. In a whirlwind of redecoration, she changes her brothel into something else entirely by the time he arrives. Now, it does honor to its name.
But Father Gustav has worries about other sheep in his congregation as well. Stiller vehemently opposes the marriage between his daughter Eva and the environmental potection agent Robert. In this case, the reverend has to resort to worldly methods to turn the wheel of fate a little further.
