Bye Bye Berlusconi is the first comedy about an incumbent Prime Minister; a real existing person who governs in Rome. Filmed incognito in Winter 2004 in Genoa, the film material was then taken to Berlin and edited. And in Berlin is where the film is first shown, in February 2006, just two months before elections in Italy. In Bye Bye Berlusconi, four Italians kidnap the Prime Minister to bring him into court - the whole world witnesses via internet how Silvio Berlusconi runs his power and policy and how he tries to bribe judges and change the laws to protect himself. Bye Bye Berlusconi is certainly a “political bombshell” – a cheeky satire about the fictional kidnapping of Silvio Berlusconi.
