During the Boeing flight from Munich to Bangkok the copilot Chris falls in love with Princess Tamani of Thailand. Tamani has been studying in Germany and is now on her way home to be married to a prince. She is unhappy about the wedding but has to submit to her parents' wishes and the political reasons which make the marriage advisable. Chris is one of the wedding guests. At the reception the lovers silently take leave of each other.
